The Inaugural Root Sellers
On Saturday, November 15, over 450 people packed The Sage School campus in Hailey. They chatted with neighbors and eagerly stocked up on local food for the winter at our inaugural Root Sellers event. It was a joyful celebration of local food that beautifully represented our approach to food system transformation.
Workshop participants incorporated more seasonal eating in their lives as they learned about food food preservation, fermentation, and making broth at home. Kids helped make apple cider using gleaned apples from the abundant harvest. And we all celebrated with live music and warm fires.
A community nourished and sustained by local food was on full display. It was a powerful moment made possible by the support o f Future Roots donors.
