What’s New in the 2026 Locally Grown Guide
Our regional food system is always evolving. Every addition strengthens our local food landscape—restaurants and markets create opportunities for farmers, just as new crops inspire chefs. Local food is diverse and takes the expertise, energy, and dedication of our whole community. Everyone, from the new farmer starting out to the individual savoring a mouthful of nutritious, locally grown food, has a big part to play.
This year, along with listing over 130 food businesses, the Locally Grown Guide features the relationships that make a regional food system sing, from farmer-chef collaborations to cultivating agricultural knowledge through 4-H.
New Businesses
We welcome our newest business listings: 5b Provisions, Ashley Roop/Fruitage Baking Company, Cinder Wines, Daisy’s Farm, Hailey Farms, Hammer Head Cattle and Co., Kelley’s Canyon Orchard, Pantry, Roots Wine Bar & Bottle Shop, Soil to Soul, Sublime Apothecary & Co., Twisted Roots, and Warm Springs Mountain Gardens.
Bulk-buying Guide
Following the success of our fall Root Sellers pop-up farmers market and celebration, we’ve added a bulk buying guide with practical ways to stock up on staples from regional farmers so you can eat local all year long.
Farmer/Chef Recipe Collaboration
This year we are highlighting a farmer-chef collaboration that optimizes how relationships can drive the local food system. Find the recipe created by Squash Blossom Farm and Brenda Boyle of Better Ask Brenda.
4-H: Future Food Advocates
For more than 100 years, 4-H has helped kids find their spark, build real world skills, and become resilient, adaptable, lifelong learners. We spoke with University of Idaho Extension’s Chandra Vaughan about the organization’s offerings in Blaine County and how it's cultivating the next generation of food system advocates.
Farm-to-School
A thriving local food system goes beyond growing food. Through our Farm to School initiative, Future Roots is partnering with the Blaine County School District to bring more local food into school menus.
Local food is an ever-evolving system full of new discoveries. We invite you to dig in!
